San Diego

For those of you who wanted to know how our trip to San Diego went, well...let's just say it was interesting. Good, but not really all that relaxing. Here's the breakdown of our trip.

Day One

We planned part of our trip to meet up with Michael and Leslie since they were in San Diego the same time we were. After lunch at Ruby's Diner, we went to La Jolla to play at the beach for awhile before we parted ways and we went to stay in San Diego at one of World Impact's guest house with the ministry there.

Day Two

Day two was Laura's birthday! We celebrated by opening presents from the kids in the morning and then going to Krispy Kreme for donuts. Things progressively got worse from there. Laura got super sick and spent all day throwing up, sleeping, and laying on the couch. Not much of a birthday :( Then later that night discovered that some neighbor kids had thrown rocks at our car and cracked our front windshield. Sweet.

Day Three

We decided to go to Coronado Island. Kids loved it! The tidepools in front of the Hotel del Coronado had all kinds of sea creatures for the kids to play with. This was Jonas' first time at the beach; he loved exploring everything and eating all the sand :) On our way home, we got rear-ended while sitting at a stop light - a car hit the car behind us who hit us. There was no damage, thankfully...and everyone was ok.

Day Four

Time to go back home, but on our way, we stopped in Carlsbad to pick some strawberries at a U-pick farm. We got a large container to fill and it was a lot of fun...best of all, we could eat as many strawberries from the field that we wanted while we picked! Jonas thought it was the best thing ever! We put a bib on him and let him loose. He picked and ate until his heart was content :)
