Wild Kratts!

This past Saturday, Dave, Elijah, Natalie and I went to the California Science Center (CSC) to see a show for Wild Kratts. (The show was at 1 pm so we thought it'd be best for Jonas to stay home and get a nap. Thankfully, Ryan/Danielle were home and could watch him.) Wild Kratts is a new PBS show where the two brothers, Martin and Chris Kratt, highlight one animal per episode, teaching kids all about that animal, with some live action but mostly animation. (The Kratt brothers also have done PBS shows in the past called Kratts' Creatures and Zaboomafoo.) The kids love watching Wild Kratts and one day saw a "commercial," stating that the brothers would be doing a show near us - at the CSC and tickets were FREE!!! We looked into it right away and got our tickets. The kids were super excited!!!

Before we went to the show at the CSC, we took the kids to McDonald's to have lunch. What a fun treat! :)

In this 30-minute show, the Kratts re-create an adventure that happened to them out in the wild and teach the kids in the audience the sounds of the animals they met on their adventures. When they meet those animals in the story, the audience plays those animals right from their seats. It’s rip-roar, snorting, bellowing, screeching, flapping fun for the whole family!

Martin Kratt

The kids had a great time seeing the Kratt brothers but I think were a bit confused about what it was all supposed to be. There were 2 large flat panel TVs in the room, and before the show started, they kept asking if that was where we were going to watch the show. I guess they thought we were just going to watch a new episode or something. :) And I think I was more excited seeing the "people who are on TV" than the kids. They were probably just waiting for the brothers to turn into animated characters. :) Oh well, they are a little young still. Maybe next time they'll "get it," which will help them to love it even more!

Regardless, we had a great time and were thankful we could do this with the kids!
