Since the new year, we've been trying to update you with what has been going on with us, in the order of how things have happened...finally, it's time to tell you about Dave's big day! (and we're even still in January! Barely!!!)
On the morning of his birthday, way back on Jan. 6, Dave picked up his own birthday donuts after his morning run. I did my part by decorating and making breakfast "look" special. :) The kids did their part by making birthday notes for their daddy and picking out a special gift for him.

(in order) Notes/gifts from Jonas, Natalie and Elijah. Doing Jonas' handprint was not as easy as I thought...Natalie's was way easier. She also cut out a heart to put on her palm. (She dictated a note to me which I wrote on the back, and she "signed" her name, which is a backwards N.) :) Elijah cut out all the patterned circles and wrote the letters. On the back, he drew a picture of our family.

Dave with the special gifts from Elijah and Natalie - slap bracelets!!! The kids were so excited for Dave to open the presents...they had been waiting so patiently to play with them! ;)After naps, Dave opened his gifts from his parents, my family, and the kids and me. Here's what he got: money, lots of books!, magazine subscriptions, an Amazon gift card, a Home Depot gift card, and, from us, a new drill!

Before our monthly missionary gathering that night, we went for his free birthday ice cream at Coldstone. Mmm!
And the grand finale of his birthday celebration - his birthday cake a few days later! He requested a coconut cake. It took a little searching to find the cream of coconut that the cake and frosting needed but it was all worth it! The cake was DELICIOUS!!!
Happy big 3-2, Dave! I love you ;)
