More Cookies!

Natalie's turn to make cookies with Mommy! Oreo cookies dipped in peppermint flavored almond bark with various Christmas-y toppings. Super yummy! Natalie sprinkled all the toppings on herself and was really proud of them.

Boy this reward coupon thing is turning out to be pretty good! :)

Water Rocket: Part 1

Elijah and I (Dave) built a water rocket for a fun little project that we could do together. We saw one shown in a science experiment book and thought we'd try and make it. I guess for a water rocket, it was a little over the top (side engines and a space shuttle attached, plus I made a separate launch stand) but never-the-less, it was fun to make.

We saved the launch date for Thanksgiving when we'd be at my parents house. We went to the park. We had no clue how high it would go, so a park was a safe bet. It flew pretty good...about 40-50 feet in the air! Our only mistake was not including some type of parachute. We tried to catch it on its way down, but after a few crash landings, there wasn't much left of it other than the 2 liter bottle - which by the way, we still launched multiple times. The kids thought it was cool regardless.

Great Catch, Dave!

This is Hard Work...Time for a Break

Our Rocket Had Seen Better Days :(

I've got a few ideas already for how we can make it better for next time. When we build our new rocket, we'll continue with Part 2.
