Blueberry Pies

Yesterday the kids were playing with playdough. Natalie, especially, REALLY loves sitting at the table for a LONG time quietly playing with the playdough. I got out some of the kids' play kitchen items for them to play with too...one item being a mini pie pan. I helped Natalie and made a pie crust with the yellow playdough while Natalie made little balls (aka blueberries) with the purple. Finally, we topped it with lattice strips. Natalie was so proud of her pie!!! (And I was inspired to make a real blueberry pie!)

While Natalie worked on her pie, Elijah made a pizza. (Sadly, we did not have "real" pizza colors of playdough but he didn't seem to mind.) He worked hard on his blue crust then had a great time topping it with pepperoni. (And, since my original dinner plans didn't work out that night, we went with Plan B and had frozen pepperoni pizza. The kids were pretty excited to have their play food turn into real food later.) :)
