Canada: Part One

Well, we made it to Calgary! I thought we'd do a little recap on our trip so far:

Day One

We left Los Angeles at 4:30am and met up with the rest of my family at my parent's house. Then we traveled through Vegas, Arizona, and into Utah where we spent the night in Orem. We brought lots of stuff for the kids to do. Elijah played with my old Optimus Prime transformer which he thought was the best surprise ever (thanks Dad for digging it out of storage). Natalie had lots of coloring books and her dolls. We also bought a DVD player for the car so the kids could be entertained :)

Day Two

We got a good start in the morning and made our way through Utah, Idaho and into Montana. We stopped for lunch in Pocatello, ID. The park had a huge rock that was really smooth on one side. Everyone had fun sliding down the side! After lunch, we discovered that our van was leaking coolant. A small hose had developed a crack in it. Along the way, it got worse and we ended up having to stop in a small town called Spencer. The only mechanic was about 30 miles in the next town, so we used some duct tape to make a temporary repair until we got to Lima. We used some tools from the mechanic in Lima to fix the hose. The day had been saved! We ate dinner there in Lima and continued to Butte, MT where we stayed with our friends, Jason and Debbie Rasmussen, for the night. It was fun to meet their family!

Day Three

We continued through Montana and stopped for lunch at a rest area about 40 minutes from the border. We finally made it into Canada around 2pm and made it across the border with no problems. We arrived in Calgary at 6pm and unpacked everything into our hotel near downtown. We relaxed in the spa at night....Ahhhhh.

Day Four

Today we ate breakfast and then headed straight to the pool. Elijah and Natalie were super excited to be in the water. The pool has a really great water slide. Both Elijah and Natlie went down with me. Elijah is still getting used to the idea of a "water" slide, but I think he's going to love it!

Right before lunch, Sam and Darcie came over to the hotel and we were able to meet Darcie for the first time. That was fun...hopefully not too awkward for her :) They couldn't stay long, but we'll get to see more of them tomorrow.

I do read your Blog and enjoy keeping up with your lives. But I am usually not a comment person. WE are anxious to see pictures of the wedding.
By the way, Congratualtions on your pregnancy. We are very happy for you.
