Baptism

On Sunday, our church plant, Christ the Victor, had a baptism service for Laura Knock, a friend of ours and World Impact missionary. She had been baptized as an infant, but wanted to be baptized again as an adult.

We weren't sure if it would be a cold day or not since most of the week had been kind of cloudy, but it was actually really nice down by the beach - mid 70's, sunny. We gathered together as a church at around 9:30am, hung out for awhile. All the kids got in the water right away! We had to drag them out so we could start the baptism service.

We went through some passages about the symbolism of baptism and then I baptized Laura in the ocean. We had to get the timing right so we didn't get nailed by the waves. The water wasn't too cold.

Afterwards, we started a fire and cooked some hotdogs for lunch...then some smores (can't have a fire without making some of these).

The kids got some more play time in before we had to leave. We also flew some kites since there was a good breeze. Elijah had fun trying to fly his dragon kite. It was a fun time.

She had been baptized as an infant, but wanted to get re-baptized as an adult. I forgot to add that part, but will now.
