New Arrival!!!

No...we did not have our baby yet! It'still a tad bit early for that, but it won't be long. Maybe in 4 weeks? We just wanted to congratulate our friends, Eric and Nikki Carlson, on the birth of their 2nd son, Eli Richard! He was born on May 21 (Laura's Birthday), weighed 8 lbs 6oz, and was 21" long.

We're really excited about the new addition to your family! I'm sure Jonathan is being a great big brother :)

Tricia's Time in LA

Well, just as Dave thought we haven't really kept our blog up-to-date since my sister Tricia arrived. :( Now to catch up...

Things we did:
1. picked up baby girl clothes
2. moved/organized things in the house
3. took naps!
4. shopped at a thrift store
5. sat in the sun while Elijah "swam"
6. played games
7. watched movies
8. made and ate yummy food
9. had dinner with friends
10. roasted hot dogs and marshmallows at the beach

Places we went:
1. Jamba Juice, Glendale
2. Baja Fresh, West Covina
3. Dockweiler Beach
4. Park & Cemetary, Rowland Heights, CA
5. Fashion District, Downtown LA
6. Islands Restaurant, Pasadena
7. Public Library, Pico-Union Branch

Fun memories we made:
1. losing van keys
2. Elijah's prayer to find van keys: Jesus...keys...help...amen
3. dealing with a van that wouldn't start
4. driving the van into a garbage can
5. lifting a weight bench into the garage loft
6. losing Elijah, only to find him outside playing in the garage alone (while we are in the house)

We loved having Tricia here and wish she could stay longer but the good news is...she'll be back in August when she has work meetings in El Segundo, only 20 min. from us. We can't wait for that!!! (She'll also be the first in my family to meet our little girl!)

We do promise, however, that we will keep our blog up-to-date between now and the time she comes back again!!! :)

Thanks for a fun week, Trishy!!!

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to me...and everyone else out there who's a dad. It's such a great day, unless you don't have any kids, then I guess it's just like any other day?

This is how my day was. This morning Laura made me French Toast for breakfast and she and Elijah gave me a present (actually, presents). They gave me a gift card to In-n-out (oh yeah) and a book called, "Fun places to go with kids (in Southern California)." It will be great to try and go to some of these places with Elijah :) And Elijah made me a really nice card.

After breakfast, we went to Burbank and we checked out some stores like Target and Best Buy (Tricia had a gift card she wanted to use). Then we went out for lunch at where else? In-n-out...had to use the gift card...although when we actually paid for it, Laura thought we should save it, so we never actually used it.

In the afternoon, after everyone took naps (except for me), we filled up some water balloons that we bought at Target for $1 and let Elijah play in the yard with them. They didn't last too long before they were popped! Elijah spilled the whole pack of balloons (100 of them) on the cement and then ran off to play with more balloons in his pool that had no water in it. He seemed to be pretty happy regardless.

Right before dinner, we went over to Ryan and Danielle's house to help them put up some shelves in their closet/office area. We put up 2 shelves before we had to leave (we weren't there very long). Here is a picture...see how proud we look of our great accomplishment?

Tonight, we are relaxing. We'll probably watch a movie and...then relax some more. What a great day! It really pays to be a father :)

And our Mystery Guest is...

She arrived today around 4pm and will be staying with us until next Saturday. I'm sure we'll have lots of fun and blog about everything we did...ok, let's not get carried away. We'll post as much as we can :)

We're Back...with some NEWS!

After about 2 weeks of being computer-less, we're back online! We got our new computer (thanks David and Mando) and everything is working great. A lot has happened since we last wrote, but to put it all in one blog would be way too much for one day, so we'll probably post something every now-and-then until we're done telling you everything we wanted to tell you :)

#1 We're going to be having a "mystery" guest come and stay with us for a week. Who will it be? Find out tomorrow when SHE comes.

#2 We're having a baby!!! Oh wait, you already knew that...ok, we're having a baby GIRL!!! Yes, it has now definitely been confirmed. After week 13 when our doctor told us we were having another boy (85% sure), in a future visit (around week 26) the doctor dropped an A-bomb and told us we were having a girl (95% sure this time)!? From that time on, everyone has been pretty skeptical..."I don't know," they say, "there's still a chance that you might be surprised when a boy pops out of the oven." I wouldn't exactly call 5% much of a chance. Well now everyone can relax because after Laura's doctor visit on Monday (week 32), she had an ultrasound and it is definitely a girl! Grandma and Grandpa you can start buying cute litte dresses and whatever else it is that girls like. Elijah's going to have a sister...hmm, think she'll like playing with balls and trucks?

Any guesses on names? There were 1 or 2 of you out there that got lucky and guessed Elijah's, but I don't think anyone's going to guess this one...honestly, I seriously doubt it.

Singin' the "Computer Blues"

You're probably wondering why you keep checking our blog and find that we haven't updated it in a while *sigh*. I know, you're disappointed, but there's a good reason why we haven't posted anything...and that very good reason is because we no longer have a computer!

Our computer went to the big cyber-store in the sky. Cause of death...the mother board. Well, at least you'll be happy to know that a friend of ours is building us a brand new one for much less than we could ever buy one, so until he's finished, we'll be out of contact with the rest of the world.

Check back with us in about 1-2 weeks, when we have our new computer up-and-running and can start posting stuff again. Until then...please accept our apologies for any mental anguish this may cause you or your loved ones.

Hold on...we'll be back soon!
