A lot can happen in one hour. Here's what our last hour looked like:
12:30 - Lunch is over and the clean-up is taking place. While Dave and I are cleaning around the kitchen, Elijah is busy playing and exploring. He discovers our old free-standing louvre doors in the corner by the kitchen table. Up until a day or so ago, the doors had a potted plant in front of them, keeping Elijah from touching the doors. Now. . . freedom to explore what the doors can do! He starts moving them and manages to "fold up" the doors - panel on panel. Great work! It's not until then that I notice what he has done and that the door is starting to tip forward on him. I try to make it in time but didn't. Elijah is on the floor, the doors are on him. He is terrified more than anything and cries like crazy!
12:45 - Finally calm now from much crying, it's time to change a dirty diaper full of whole soybeans from last night's dinner. Yum.
12:50 - We decide to all go out to the garage so I can take a look at something in storage. Time to put shoes on!
12:55 - On the walk to the garage, Elijah trips and falls on the cement, scraping his same little forehead that just had big doors land on it! The bump is bigger and redder. Not as much crying this time.
1:05 - Elijah is busy exploring new things in the garage while Dave and I discuss our many projects. I notice Elijah has found Dave's oil pan and ask Dave to make sure it's cleaned out...this time, it's not!!! It's actually full of leftover oil from the last oil change. In the short amount of time we were talking, Elijah managed to dump the oil on the garage floor, get it on his shoes, pants and hands and had tracked it all over the garage.
1:10 - Clothes are stripped off in the garage and Elijah and I head inside for a bath. Dave stays to clean up the mess.
1:30 - Bathtime is over. Elijah is clean, warm and cozy, already in bed for his afternoon nap.
One hour over! Hopefully the rest of the afternoon will be uneventful!
