We did it! #2 is gone!!!

Let me just start by saying, after mouse number 1 was gone, we still heard scraping and scratching in the area above our bedroom. We then knew we weren't done yet. We continued setting the traps and each morning, when we checked...no mouse BUT the peanut butter had been eaten!!! Every night we would re-set the traps on the kitchen counter with fresh peanut butter only to wake up the next morning finding it had been eaten again. (It was never eaten entirely, just parts of it - sometimes on 2 different traps!) We were getting pretty frustrated with the silly mouse because he was winning! We couldn't believe he could outsmart us! Now we started putting just a thin spread of peanut butter right over the center of the bait trap, making it almost so the mouse would have to climb on the trap and even lick underneath just to get some yummy peanut butter. Finally, it worked! Sunday morning we woke up and found the little guy in the trap. Hip-hip-hooray! We finally won!!!
I have to admit I thought the mouse looked a little cute there in the trap. I almost wanted to touch it and find out how soft it was...but I restrained myself. :) The next night or so after catching mouse #2, we still heard scratching "upstairs." We haven't heard any the last couple nights and our traps appear to be untouched. Maybe they have moved to a new house?
Also, our next door neighbor says they are hearing the same sounds, right above their bedroom, and have already caught 3 mice!!! 'Tis the season! :)
